Homework 1/30

Diary #6 - This is your final diary entry, so make it strong! If your persona did not survive the Holocaust, shift into third person and tell the story of your death through the eyes of another person (friend, family member, SS officer, etc.).

Research the Dieudonne debate happening in France. On Monday, you will write an argument paragraph in response to the following question: Should the French government ban Dieudonne's performances?
  • Research will need to be cited as evidence in your paragraph.
  • You will need to include both in text citations and a complete works cited.

Homework 1/13

1. Write your persona's biography and diary entry #1.

  • Your diary entry should be written in first person (I, me, us, we) as though you are your character.
  • Weave in details about your character's life, family, education, interests, etc. These details will make your character feel "real" and authentic.
  • Use sensory details -- What do you see? What do you hear? What do you smell? What do you taste? What do you feel? -- to bring your story to life and make it feel 3 dimensional.

Note: I've shared a Google document titled "Holocaust Diary." This is the document where you will write your bio and diary entries.

2. Read and annotate Night to page 43.

3. Study for vocabulary 22 quiz on Wednesday.

Reminder: Check the schedule for your Expert Group Presentation date.
