Create Your Own Meme
Think about the major themes in Joy Luck – balance, parenting, growing up, parent-child relationships – and decide which major theme you relate to the most. That is the topic you will focus on for your meme.

Your meme is commentary on LIFE not the novel. We are just using the novel to identify ideas to focus on.

Creating your Meme:
  • Do an advance Google search for an image that is labeled either "Labeled for reuse" OR "Labeled for noncommercial reuse". Find a picture that you want to use.

  • Take a screenshot of your image (Shift+Command+4) and it will save to your desktop.
  • Then go to your Google Drive, click "Create," and select "Drawing." Title your Google Drawing --> Class Name - Last Name - Original Meme
  • Upload your picture into your Google Drawing.
  • Add your clever text!
  • Remember that memes are clever ways to spread ideas online. You will want to  make sure your mix of media and text send a clear and interesting message. I can't wait to be WOWED!
